The Packer Shoes x Adidas Consortium NMD Runner PK arrives in stores on Nov. 12 and will retail for $180. The shoe will debut at both Packer Shoes locations as well as packershoes.com. After its release at Packer, the shoe will be released worldwide at select Adidas Consortium accounts.
According to Packer Shoes, the idea behind the collaboration was to create a colorway that’s an homage to the retailer’s century-plus legacy in footwear and sports apparel — opening in Yonkers, N.Y., in 1907 — and its knowledge and experience in the field. Packer Shoes chose the NMD silhouette because it believes Adidas established a close relationship between heritage design references and progressive product innovation with the model.
To craft the shoe, Packer Shoes said it looked to Adidas’ apparel archive and adopted a color palette prominent in much of the brand’s looks in the 1980s and ’90s. The shoe boasts a tonal blue Primeknit upper and is paired with a white Boost midsole with red and blue overlays, and is completed with a blue outsole.
To authenticate its retro appeal, Packer Shoe shot the shoe at Tried & True Co., a premier L.A.-based destination for vintage sportswear.
